About At Play

At Play is a nonprofit community playspace in Rhinebeck with pediatric therapy and a café, designed for kids of all abilities and the grownups who love them. We are creating a joyful, welcoming space where families can connect, relax, and play. Think great coffee, open-ended play, thoughtful classes, and unforgettable birthday parties, all rooted in community.

The Role

We are looking for outgoing, organized, playful, and reliable part-time team members with strong availability on Saturdays and Sundays, especially to support birthday parties and private events. This is a hands-on, energetic role that requires the ability to juggle multiple tasks while providing a great guest experience. Weekend team members are essential to the heart of At Play, helping families celebrate, play, and feel at home.

All team members are cross-trained and may support:

• Weekend open play operations
• Birthday parties and private events (setup, hosting, supporting families, cleanup)
• Opening and closing the space
• Café service (making and serving coffee and snacks)
• Cleaning and tidying play areas, café, and bathrooms
• Reception and check-in (welcoming families, POS use, answering questions)
• Play area supervision (keeping play safe, inclusive, and fun)
• Optional: assisting with or leading play-based activities or classes

Details

• Part-time: up to 25 hours/week
• Weekend shifts required; weekday shifts may be available
• Pay: $22/hour
• Training provided (barista basics, safety protocols, event hosting)
• Background checks required (we handle this)
