SUMMARY:

Bronx House is seeking part-time Dance Instructors for our School for Performing Arts. The Dance Instructors are responsible for class curriculum and instruction, maintaining up-to-date progress notes on each participant, preparing students for recital performance, and following up with participant families on department communications. The Dance Instructors work within the guidelines, policies and mission of Bronx House and report to the Performing Arts Director. This position requires Saturday availability. We are specifically looking for Dance instructors that teach Tap, Hip Hop and Contemporary Dance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver high-quality dance instruction for youth and adult classes, adapting curriculum to meet varying skill levels and learning styles.
• Develop engaging lesson plans that promote technical development, creativity, and confidence.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for participants of all ages.
• Prepare students for performances and recitals throughout the program year.
• Support program recruitment efforts and participate in special events, demonstrations, and performances when needed.
• Effectively manage the classroom and lead structured group instruction.
• Track and maintain accurate student attendance and progress records.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure strong program implementation and participant engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor in Dance or Education or several years of training and professional experience
• 2 years of experience working effectively with children and families.
• Must have experience within an education or community based setting.
• Possess the interpersonal skills to engage individuals and families from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
• Must possess a strong commitment to collaboration and effective teamwork within the organization

PAY RATE: Salary $35/hr for group lessons.
