Top & Base Operator

General Description/Purpose :

The Top & Base will provide a high level of service to ensure employee, customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Top & Base does this by performing all duties related to the attachment of tops, bases, molding and hardware on the shell of furniture including any fitting of lids and secret compartments. The Top & Base does these functions in the manufacture of furniture parts and pieces.

Job Responsibilities :

• Identify a variety of wood species products including but not limited to the following wood species: Cherry, Mahogany, Oak, Maple, Birch, and Veneers
• Read, comprehend, and fulfill production tickets and meet time schedule for each case to achieve departmental goals
• Utilize procedure booklets to make correct operating decisions and confer with management on out-of-scope situations
• Conduct any and all preventive maintenance per machine specifications
• Inspect parts for quality and dimensional accuracy
• Reports to their supervisor for direction daily and promptly report any questions or problems
• Operate assigned machines in a safe manner.
• Utilize hand and power tools such as belt sanders, nail guns and drivers, large belt sanders, and chop saws
