The Role
Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) seeks a Philanthropy Manager to support and strengthen its fundraising efforts in service of its mission. Founded in 1913, WRJ is the women’s affiliate of the Reform Jewish movement, a global network of Jewish women advancing leadership, community, spirituality, and social justice.
Through its fundraising efforts, including the YES Fund (Youth, Education, and Special Projects), WRJ provides critical support to programs and institutions across the Reform Jewish movement. This role plays a key part in sustaining and growing that impact, helping to empower women and communities worldwide.
This is an opportunity for a relationship-driven, detail-oriented fundraiser to contribute meaningfully to a mission-driven organization. The Philanthropy Manager will partner with senior leadership and lay leaders to execute fundraising strategies, deepen donor engagement, and support a culture of philanthropy across WRJ.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both building relationships and managing the day-to-day execution of fundraising programs.
What You Will Do
Execute Fundraising Strategy & Grow Donor Engagement
· Partner with WRJ leadership to implement annual and long-term fundraising strategies
· Support efforts to grow annual giving, the YES Fund, and donor retention
· Use donor data and insights to inform outreach and engagement strategies
· Build and manage relationships with a portfolio of individual donors and prospects
· Support cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of gifts
· Coordinate meaningful donor touchpoints including virtual and in-person engagement opportunities
Advance Pipeline Development & Partner with Leadership
· Assist senior leadership in identifying and preparing major gift prospects
· Conduct research and help maintain a healthy donor pipeline
· Prepare briefing materials and support donor strategy conversations
· Collaborate with and support lay leaders and volunteers in fundraising efforts
· Provide tools, guidance, and coaching to strengthen peer-to-peer outreach
Lead Fundraising Operations & Communications
· Manage day-to-day development operations, including:
o Gift processing and acknowledgments
o Donor database management and data integrity
o Tracking and reporting on fundraising progress
· Partner with internal or external support as needed to ensure smooth operations
· Draft and edit donor-facing communications, including appeals, reports, and acknowledgments
· Help tell compelling stories that connect donors to WRJ’s mission and impact

Keys to Success (the must-haves)
· Fundraising Experience: Demonstrated experience supporting or growing fundraising efforts in a nonprofit setting
· Strong Communicator: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail
· Relationship Builder: Demonstrated ability to build trust and engage donors, volunteers, or stakeholders
· Project Manager: Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities and follow through on details
· Data & Systems Savvy: Experience with donor databases or CRM systems (CharityEngine a plus), and comfort using technology to support fundraising efforts
· Collaborative Mindset: Experience working across teams and supporting volunteer or lay leadership
· Mission Oriented: Appreciation for WRJ’s mission and commitment to women’s leadership
Qualifications
·3–5 years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, or a related field
· Experience working in a Jewish communal or faith-based organization preferred
· Experience supporting volunteer- or lay-led fundraising models
