ABOUT VERS:

VERS is a new kind of gay bar, serving craft cocktails, elevated bar snacks, and unique entertainment in a beautifully designed space in the gayborhood of Hell's Kitchen.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

You’re a team-oriented line cook that is eager to make delicious food in a brand new type of LGBTQ+ venue in Hell’s Kitchen.

You're comfortable in a fast-paced environment where you deliver perfectly prepared bar snacks, brunch, and other delectable bites that customers crave and keep coming back for time and time again.

You are tired of the old way of doing things. You’re eager to be part of an organization that breaks the mold of a typical restaurant/bar working environment. You like sane work schedules, you work well under level-headed leadership, and you have an appreciation and respect for colleagues and customers alike.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies

• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)

• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff

• Answer, report and follow Kitchen Manager / Sous Chef’s instructions

• Clean up station and take care of leftover food

• Stock inventory appropriately

• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion

• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

• Ensure proper food temperatures

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Minimum of 2 years of applicable restaurant and/or hospitality experience in NYC

• NYC Foodhandler's Permit

• Demonstrable track record of consistently preparing, cooking, and serving unbelievable delicious, perfectly cooked food.

• Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits

• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills

• Must have ability to use kitchen knives and equipment such as grills, ovens, fryers and warmers in food preparation.

• Must have ability to stand, walk, bend, etc for extended periods, and lift up to 40-lb boxes

Revival Survival is a gay-owned-and-operated, independent hospitality group founded by David DeParolesa in 2021. Revival Survival was created as response to the loss of so many long-standing gay and gay-friendly establishments during the pandemic. David believes that the gay community — his community — will once again be at the core of Hell's Kitchen's revival and survival and founded the company to usher in this vision in Hell's Kitchen, NYC, and beyond.
