Essential Responsibilities:

• This position will require to work a rotating shift working off hours, weekends, and holidays .
• Regular communication with customers, work leaders, and other trades to complete work assignments.
• Diagnose, maintain and repair complicated central heating, ventilating, air-conditioning systems and other services.
• Perform rounds through facility mechanical rooms to monitor facility equipment.
• Monitor systems through controls software, adjusting setpoints as needed.
• Responding to radio calls and communications from buildings systems center
• Ability to use basic hand tools and handheld power tools.
• Perform rounds of labs to support research staff on off shift.
• Perform all work safely and efficiently following all policies, procedures and codes.

Qualifications:

• AAS Degree in Plant Utilities Technology, Mechanical Technology, HVAC
  
  • OR
• A.O.S Degree in Construction Technology with a minimum of 2 years' experience in Utility Operations; or Military Training in Boiler Operations (eg. Navy HT)
  
  • OR
• 7 or more years of experience with Industrial HVAC.
• Must be willing to work a rotating shift working off hours, weekends, and holidays .

• Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.

The hourly pay range for this position $ 40.31- $47.79 per hour. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. This posting is expected to close on November 21st, 2025.
