Metro Cinema is creating a new kind of entertainment experience, bringing together private cinema, elevated dining, cocktails, wine, events, and hospitality under one roof.

Founded by the creator of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, Metro Cinema is the first private cinema concept of its kind in the United States. Our 20 private suites host everything from movies and sports to private events, meetings, karaoke, and gaming—all supported by a serious food and beverage program.

We’re looking for an energetic, hospitality-minded Sous Chef to join our growing culinary team in NYC.

As Sous Chef, you’ll partner closely with the Executive Chef to lead daily kitchen operations, support and develop the culinary team, maintain high standards, and help the operation continue to grow.

You’ll be joining an operation with a strong foundation and helping take it to the next level—refining systems, improving processes, developing people, and contributing to an innovative hospitality concept.

What You'll Do

• Lead daily kitchen operations alongside the Executive Chef.
• Supervise food production and service while maintaining quality and consistency.
• Lead, coach, and develop the culinary team.
• Support ordering, receiving, inventory, and vendor relationships.
• Monitor food costs and minimize waste.
• Maintain high standards for food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation.
• Refine recipes, procedures, and production standards as the operation evolves.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and the guest experience.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of management experience in a busy restaurant or hospitality environment.
• Pastry experience.
• Current NYC Food Handler Certification.
• A hands-on leadership style and a genuine passion for food and hospitality.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Bonus points for: hotel or private event experience, fine dining experience, strong technology skills, knowledge of the NYC restaurant scene, or bilingual English/Spanish skills.

What It Takes

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring flexibility, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. You should be comfortable working on your feet for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.

• $72,000-$76,000 annual salary
