Split Billing Analyst
- Maintains payor information, including cost share details, for all split billed files.
- Evaluate new split files to determine appropriate contacts, cost share amounts, and billing submission information.
- Update split bill information on existing matters including but not limited to payors, cost shares, bill submission information and rate matters as needed.
- Maintain working knowledge as a subject matter expert of all split billing functions within Aderant.
- Oversee various reporting functions regarding split billed details.
- Accurately respond to written/telephone inquiries from clients, attorneys and staff in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with Billing Process and Billing Team Managers overseeing issues within third party ebilling sites as they relate to the functionality of split billing information.
- Communicate with other firm administrative teams regarding billing discrepancies and questions.
- Provide support to the Billing Manager by offering suggestions for the implementation of new policies and procedures related to split billing set ups.
- Create and maintain split set up guides and split billing instructional materials for Billing team.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of billing experience, with demonstrated expertise in cost share split billing and/or insurance carrier deductible and retention billing. Prior experience in a law firm billing environment is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of electronic billing sites
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to compile, analyze and interpret client billing data
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in English
- Excellent organizational and time management skills for handling multiple tasks and deadlines
- Regularly required to observe and assess data and documents, in printed form and on computer screens
- May be requested to work beyond normal work hours and weekends for special projects
- Works well in a team environment
- Ability to work independently within general guidelines and minimal supervision
- Ability to recognize the need for confidentiality of information and to maintain such confidences
- Ability to respond to internal or external inquiries, including those of a sensitive, confidential, or adversarial nature
- Ability to use math/calculations
- Work is generally performed inside within an office environment with standard office equipment.
- Frequent standing and/or sitting position
- Regularly required to physically operate routine office equipment such as telephones, computers, etc.
- Regularly required to observe and assess data and documents, in printed form and on computer screens
- Repetitive movement of hands and fingers – typing and/or writing
- May be requested to work beyond normal work hours and weekends for special projects
- May be required to work beyond normal work hours to complete monthly invoices
- May be required to move objects up to 50 lbs. from one level to another from time to time.
- Must have reliable means of transportation to work location
The hourly range for this position is $20.00 to $32.00. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also offers bonuses, and a full benefits package.
