Job Summary
The Director of Principal Gifts reports to the Associate Vice President for Development and Fundraising and is responsible for developing the principal gift plan that will maximize philanthropy from donors capable of $1,000,000 gifts and above to support Rensselaer's highest priorities. The Director will develop a comprehensive strategy to engage interested individuals, expand the number and level of individual donors, and move them toward a transformative gift to the Institute. In addition to managing a portfolio of Principal Gift prospects, the Director is responsible for tracking and coordinating principal gift donors across Institute Advancement. The Director of Principal Gifts provides executive level staffing and support around principal gift prospects and Institute fundraising priorities.


Minimum Qualifications

»Bachelor's Degree Required

» 7 year's related and progressively responsible professional fundraising and management practice preferably in a college, university or academic setting

»Demonstrated success in personally cultivating, soliciting, and closing gifts $1 Million+

»Valid US driver's license
significant combinations of education, training and practice may be considered.

Shift
Business Hours with weekends or evenings occasionally required


TravelTravel is a significant component of the position (greater than 25%)
