Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Part-Time Dialysis Registered Dietitian (RD) to join our clinical team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing specialized nutritional assessments, counseling, and individualized care plans for patients undergoing dialysis treatment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, knowledgeable in renal nutrition, and committed to empowering patients to improve their quality of life through tailored dietary management in a collaborative, team-based environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive nutritional assessments and reassessments for patients receiving dialysis care
Develop, implement, and adjust individualized renal diet plans based on lab results, medical history, and patient goals
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on renal nutrition, fluid restrictions, phosphorus/potassium management, and healthy eating habits
Review and interpret monthly laboratory values (e.g., Kt/V, albumin, phosphorus, potassium) and recommend dietary or medication adjustments (e.g., phosphate binders) to the care team
Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation in electronic medical records
Collaborate closely with nephrologists, nurses, social workers, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
Monitor patient compliance, weight management, and nutritional status over time
Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulatory standards regarding nutritional care
Registered Dietitian (RD) credential required
Active state license/certification as a Registered Dietitian (where applicable)
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in nutrition therapy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration
Previous experience as a Renal / Dialysis Registered Dietitian
Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition (CSR) designation
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems in a dialysis or clinical setting
Deep understanding of renal nutrition science, lab values, and dietary management for kidney disease
Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-centered counseling style
Ability to effectively communicate complex nutritional concepts in an easy-to-understand manner
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical team
