Cornell Law School is seeking a temporary Head Proctor to oversee exam administration for the Spring 2026 exam period. The Head Proctor will oversee exam logistics, ensuring exams are prepared in advance, managing proctor check-in and check-out, and providing backup support as needed. Paid training will be provided before the first scheduled exam period.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor all exam bins, ensuring they are organized and ready at least two days before each exam.
  • Check in and check out proctors for their assigned shifts.
  • Provide backup support for proctors as needed.
  • Clearly communicate exam instructions to students and proctors.
  • Report any irregularities or concerns to the exam supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and work with a diverse group of students and staff.
  • Dependable and timely, with a commitment to following assigned schedules.
  • Prior experience with proctoring or exam administration is preferred.

Schedule & Compensation

  • The Head Proctor is expected Monday through Friday, 8:15am to 3:00pm (some flexibility in start and end times may be available), between April 30 and May 15. The first day of the appointment will be devoted to training.
  • Compensation: $18.75 per hour.
