Description
General Summary and Objective:
This position provides direct support to the Controller and is primarily responsible for general accounting tasks, assisting with the preparation of management and regulatory reports, providing financial analysis assistance using various financial software tools, budget and forecast preparation, monitoring various financial activities of our Bank (and its subsidiaries), and wire transfer processing. The Staff Accountant is also responsible for serving as backup for other critical functions and day-to-day activities within the Finance Department.
Requirements
General Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- To provide an exceptional service experience, every time!
- Must have excellent communication and telephone skills.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Maintain and reconcile all correspondent bank accounts.
- Assist in the bank-wide balance sheet reconciliation process.
- Review application balancing report and perform follow-up to ensure accurate financial records.
- Assist in monthly general ledger closing process.
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
- Assist with and prepare workpapers relating to forecasting, budgeting, regulatory reporting and audit engagements.
- Assist with the preparation of weekly interest rate reports for CFO review.
- Assist in collateralization of municipal deposits.
- Process and balance balancing wire transfers daily.
- Cross train and backup of all other critical functions and day-to-day activities within the Finance Department
- This is a full-time position performed in a regular office work environment and that will routinely use standard office equipment. Travel may be required.
- This position has no supervisory responsibility.
