Position Summary

Our factory in Dunkirk, located along Lake Erie's Historic Chadwick Bay Harbor, is a hidden gem situated 50 miles southwest of Buffalo, New York. With its picturesque Great Lakes waterfront, beautiful beaches, ski resorts, vineyards, and boutique wineries, our associates take great pride in calling Dunkirk their home. Since its establishment in 1971, the factory has undergone several expansions to accommodate the growing production of beloved household brands such as Pro Plan®, Beggin®, T-Bonz®, and Busy®. Our factory also works to do our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal.

As a CDL-A Yard Jockey / Forklift Operator, we will count on you to safely and efficiently operate both forklifts and yard equipment. In this role, you'll become a certified forklift operator and will be responsible for reviewing and actively participating in risk assessments. Join our dynamic team and conduct pre-operational checks on yard equipment and move trailers to the dock or various yard locations.

• Safely operate, monitor and problem solve throughout the yard
• Safely operate a forklift with duties such as loading and unloading trucks, line hauling, and stocking.

• Monitor storage reefer temperatures and fuel levels

• Assist carrier drivers on premises

• Perform preventative standard routines to include performance of basic lubrication, repairs, inspection, and identify defects to complete or coordinate repairs

• Maintain yard cleanliness and organization

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Class A CDL with driving experience required

• 6+ months experience of forklift or heavy equipment operation in warehouse, industrial, construction, or military environment

Other

• Must be open to working all shifts, overtime and weekends.

The approximate hourly pay for this position is $22.48 an hour to start. The pay progression plan follows: Introductory Stage 1 $24.32, Introductory Stage 2 $26.75, Bid Operator rate $35.00 when fully qualified. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
