Position Title: RN - Med/Surg

Location: New York, NY

Job Type: Contract | Local or Travel

Shift: Night Shift, 7:30 PM–8:00 AM

Duration: 14 weeks

Payrate: $55 hourly

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking RN - Med/Surg for an exciting Travel or Local job in New York, NY.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and monitors changes in condition on a medical-surgical unit.
• Administers medications, treatments, wound care, and IV therapies in accordance with provider orders and facility protocols.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized nursing care plans.
• Collaborates with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and discharge planning.
• Documents assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EMR.
• Provides patient and family education regarding disease processes, medications, and follow-up care.
• Responds effectively to emergencies and utilizes appropriate clinical judgment.
• Maintains compliance with infection control, medication administration, and hospital safety standards.
• Supports new or float staff as needed and contributes to unit-based quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Active New York RN license required.
• BLS certification (AHA required); ACLS preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience in an acute care hospital.
• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and standard nursing documentation.
• Excellent communication, time-management, and organizational abilities.
