Lead nuclear medicine technologist

Ellis Medicine is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our Imaging team. In this leadership role, you'll oversee clinical operations, ensure compliance and quality standards, and support the development of staff while continuing to perform hands-on diagnostic imaging procedures. Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (No weekends, no call)
Salary Range: $44.19 – $66.28 per hour (Based on experience, skills, and education) Relocation Assistance Available!

What You’ll Do as a Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist

You will serve as both a clinical expert and operational support leader within the Nuclear Medicine department. This includes:

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Act as the modality expert and liaison between staff and management
• Oversee exam protocols and maintain ACR accreditation
• Ensure radiation safety , patient safety, and quality standards
• Train and support staff on protocols, procedures, and systems
• Perform diagnostic imaging procedures within licensing scope

Operational Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the Nuclear Medicine department
• Assist with staffing, recruitment , and HR-related tasks
• Support budgeting and financial performance measures
• Coordinate equipment maintenance, upgrades , and vendor scheduling
• Handle charge reconciliation , QA/QC, and error resolution

What will you bring to Ellis Medicine?

Education & Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited allied health program with certification in Nuclear Medicine
• Maintain all required NYS licenses and certifications
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills
• Experience in a leadership or training capacity preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to push/pull/lift up to 35 lbs
• Perform manual tasks such as typing and filing
• Capable of remaining stationary and mobile for extended periods
• Able to comprehend and communicate effectively in English
