Batch Weigher – Production
Location: Hicksville, NY
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM
Some Saturdays required; schedule may vary based on business needs
Pay Rate: $19/hour
PPE Requirement: Steel-toe shoes required
The Batch Weigher plays a critical role in supporting production operations by accurately pre-weighing ingredients and preparing kettles for processing. This position ensures the timely delivery of materials to maintain production efficiency while adhering to all safety, quality, and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-weigh ingredients according to daily production schedules
- Supply kettles with the correct ingredients to ensure efficient production flow
- Communicate with cooks and production staff regarding production needs
- Inspect raw materials to ensure quality and sanitary standards are met
- Accurately record batch information (e.g., lot codes, quantities, times, initials)
- Ensure all ingredients are properly labeled, covered, and stored
- Prepare and maintain a clean, organized workstation
- Clean and sanitize kettles between production cycles as needed
- Verify proper operation and sanitation of equipment (e.g., scales, flexicon systems)
- Follow batch formulations according to established procedures
- Complete required checklists and documentation
- Adhere to HACCP, GMP, and all company food safety and personal safety policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions
- Basic math skills, including arithmetic and weight/measurement calculations
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with production teams
- Experience in food production or manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with sanitation procedures and food safety standards
- Experience operating weighing or batching equipment
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, push, and pull
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to work while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Comfortable working in varying temperature conditions, including hot and cold environments
- Ability to work in environments where dust may be present
