Trailer Jockey (Yard Switcher) - CDL-A Required | Local Only | Schenectady, NY

Position Overview:

We are hiring full-time Trailer Jockeys to support our Schenectady, NY distribution center. This is a local-only position focused on trailer movements within the yard and loading areas. Drivers work within a structured, safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Move trailers between docks, staging lanes, parking areas, and tandem zones
• Operate yard tractors and tractor-trailers safely in a high-volume DC environment
• Coordinate with dispatch and warehouse operations for efficient freight movement
• Perform light trailer prep or loading tasks as assigned
• Conduct pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues
• Maintain accurate documentation and yard logs

Position Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid CDL-A permit or license
• Current DOT medical card
• Clean MVR and driver abstract
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Able to lift up to 100 lbs and maneuver equipment in tight spaces
• Prior yard jockey, spotter, or local CDL driving experience preferred

Compensation & Schedule:

• Pay range: $19.00 – $24.95 per hour based on experience
• Weekly pay with overtime opportunities
