Enterprise Compliance Risk Assessment Associate Location New York State : Position Title Enterprise Compliance Risk Assessment Associate Location NY / 1400 Broadway Floor 07 Job Summary Enterprise Compliance has many responsibilities related to managing the bank's risk to ensure adherence with compliance requirements. One of the main responsibilities is to provide continued leadership and implementation of an enterprise-wide compliance culture by supporting and enforcing the bank's established Compliance Management Program (CMP) to ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State and Government Sponsored Entities, etc. laws, rules, and regulations. This role supports the Head of the Enterprise Compliance Risk Assessment (ECRA) and the ECRA process for Flagstar bank and its affiliates, working with stakeholders in Legal, Enterprise Compliance, Enterprise Risk, Regulatory Compliance Advisors, subject matter experts, as well as Business Unit partners throughout the company. This position is responsible for providing subject matter expertise in the development and utilization of key frameworks that support the Enterprise Compliance Risk Assessments and related tools that are used by Enterprise Compliance personnel to assist the business units in achieving and maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Key areas of focus include supporting the implementation of the risk and control taxonomies, and being a liaison to control owners to ensure frameworks utilized by the ECRA are configured appropriately and populated with content that meets established program standards. The role requires regular collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including Enterprise Risk Management, 1LOD teams, and other upstream contributors and downstream contributors to the ECRA process. This position will be an integral part of ensuring an effective Compliance Management Program is in place by providing technical support within the Department and will be an integral part of the company's overall risk management strategy. Pay Range: $99,731.70 - $132,144.50 - $197,468.76 Pay Range: Local Minimum Wage - $0.00 - $0.00 Job Responsibilities: JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Enterprise Compliance Risk Assessment frameworks administration
    • Assist in the maintenance of core Compliance Risk frameworks, including business hierarchies and profiles, risk and control taxonomies, regulatory inventories, and additional data sources as required
    • Collaborate on the completion of risk assessment milestone tasks under in accordance with ongoing ECRA project plans
    • Provide direct support to 1LOD and 2LOD stakeholders on their inputs to the ongoing administration of risk frameworks
    • Consult on the design of Archer GRC frameworks related to the risk and control inventories
    • Provide support as needed to facilitate large scale data uplifts
    • Participate in 2LOD check and challenge meetings with compliance management
    • Aid in the production of regular program updates, such as bulletins
  • Quality Control and data validation
    • Assist the ECRA team in validating upstream data inputs to the risk assessment process
    • Periodically validate the accuracy of reporting produced by the ECRA team and ensure data aggregation methods are performed according to established standards
    • Contribute to the risk assessment quality control processes, ensuring assessment inputs meet established standards for accuracy and completeness
  • Downstream program support
    • Coordinate on the delivery of risk assessment results for use in creation of remediation issues in accordance with enterprise compliance issues management standards
    • Coordinate with compliance assurance activities on the delivery of risk assessment results for use in annual monitoring and testing
    • Perform quality assurance over the taxonomies to ensure suitability for the ECRA process adherence to design standards
    • Participate in other quality assurance processes to ensure 1LOD and 2LOD risk assessment data is complete and meets minimum program standards
  • Reporting and Administration
    • Contribute to the production of reporting materials and internal program trackers as needed for status reports, management reports, and consolidated risk assessment results
    • Ensure ECRA team workpapers are maintained and support the ECRA department in the administration of workpapers and artifacts for regulatory, audit, and other ongoing monitoring and supervision activities
    • Utilize and enhance central file repositories (i.e, SharePoint) to maintain internal working papers and trackers
  • Analyzes and resolves problems when supporting ECRA stakeholders, including 1LOD and 2LOD contributors and other functions
  • ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
    • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
    • Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
    JOB REQUIREMENTS Required Qualifications:
    • Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in business administration, finance, risk management, or a related field
    • Minimum experience required: 5+ Years in risk management, compliance, audit, and/or project management within the banking industry.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with GRC platforms, particularly RSA Archer a plus
    • CRCM certification or equivalent subject matter expertise in banking compliance regulations.
    Job Competencies:
    • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements for banks with over $100 billion in assets, including OCC Heightened Standards, Federal Reserve Enhanced Prudential Standards, Basel III, Dodd-Frank Act, and other relevant regulations.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, develop innovative solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and management on a variety of engagements.
    • Service-oriented attitude with a proven track record of providing technical and functional support to end users and contributors to critical, time-sensitive tasks.
    • Proficiency in data analysis and deriving meaningful insights for decision-making.
    • Occasional domestic travel required to Flagstar locations including Long Island, NY, Troy, MI, and other locations throughout the U.S.
    • Physical demands (ADA): No unusual physical exertion is involved.
