Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric med-surg patients on a 20-bed unit
- Conduct ongoing assessments, develop and adjust care plans, and document care using the unit’s charting processes
- Administer medications and treatments, including IV starts and maintenance, blood product administration, and insulin/heparin administration; manage peripheral and central lines as indicated
- Perform wound care, monitor labs and vital signs, respond to changes in patient status, and escalate to the physician or care team as needed
- Implement infection prevention and isolation precautions; adhere to PPE and standard safety practices
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams; provide patient and family education and discharge planning support
- May float to other units within the hospital per manager discretion based on skillset and unit needs

Requirements
- Current New York RN license (active at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of acute hospital nursing experience
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Ability to work in a Med Surg setting and on a 3x12 night shift; weekend coverage required
- Recent Nursys verification; professional references; ability to complete HealthStream modules as required
- Willingness to float within the hospital as needed (per supervisor discretion)
