Our Internship Program: The S&P Dow Jones Indices intern program is a three-month, full-time position beginning around June 2026. The program seeks to attract high achievers from a diverse pool of undergraduate and postgraduate institutions. As an intern, you will get exposure to several teams within the S&P Dow Jones Indices Operations Group. Exceptional learning agility, time management, and analytical skills are necessary for your success. You will be able to apply your skills to real-world industry scenarios, gain experience in communicating in a professional environment and contribute to key projects that are critical to the calculation of S&P Dow Jones Indices.

Interns have the opportunity to assist S&P Dow Jones Indices with achieving its mission to provide benchmarks that accurately gauge the markets and help institutions and individuals make well-informed decisions.Interns will also be provided with the chance to meet with and network with senior business leaders and other employees within the organization.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Interns will spend a significant amount of time building dashboards and data visualizations that collect and display information from around Operations to assist the group to make data-driven decisions

  • Lead recurring meetings to share progress on key launches

  • Understand critical processes and workflows to provide feedback and enhancements

  • Manage projects and deadlines

  • Maintain key relationships within index operations

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated hourly wage for this position is 25 USD - 30 USD. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

Qualifications

  • Current student (rising senior) graduating Summer 2027 from an accredited university or college

  • All majors eligible; (Business Administration, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, and Finance majors preferred)

  • Coursework in Math, Quantitative methods, Econometrics and other quantitative areas

  • Proficiency in data visualization applications (Tableau, PowerBi, etc.)

  • Must be able to work independently on projects

  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent analytical and quantitative capabilities

  • Ability to learn quickly, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong problem-solving, time-management, attention to detail and organizational abilities

  • Understanding of financial markets

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Basic knowledge of programming languages such as VBA, Python or SQL (not required)
