HHA - Home Health caregiver (Live-in cases)

Bluebird is seeking a skilled and empathetic Home Health Aide (HHA) to provide personalized care to our clients in Brooklyn, NY 11226 . We value our HHAs and recognize the vital role they play in helping individuals, particularly seniors and those requiring long-term care, maintain their independence and quality of life at home.
About the Role:
As an HHA with bluebird, you'll be more than just a caregiver – you'll be a trusted companion and advocate. You'll provide essential support with daily living activities, empowering our clients to live comfortably and with dignity. This position offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with clients and their families, while contributing to a supportive and collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Health Monitoring: Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration) and report any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professional.
- Mobility Assistance: Support clients with mobility needs, including transfers, ambulation, and range-of-motion exercises, as directed.
- Medication Reminders: Provide medication reminders to ensure clients adhere to their prescribed regimens. (If needed)
- Light Housekeeping: Perform light housekeeping tasks related to the client's immediate environment to maintain a clean and safe living space.
- Communication & Documentation: Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals, providing updates and reporting any concerns. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
- Companionship: Support clients in maintaining their independence while ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Adherence to Standards: Adhere to all agency policies, procedures, and safety regulations, ensuring the highest quality of care.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Experience in senior care or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Skills: Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices is essential. Ability to perform basic medical tasks such as taking vital signs and understanding medical records.
- Personal Attributes: A compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature with a genuine desire to help others. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic.
- Certifications: Certification as a Home Health Aide or similar qualification is preferred but not required.
- Other: Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
