Delivery Driver

RECAP’s Nutrition and Advocacy Department is seeking a dedicated Food Pantry Driver to join our team in Middletown, NY. As a key member of our organization, you will play an important role in supporting our mission to provide nutritious food to the community. This position involves delivering and picking up food items, maintaining inventory, and assisting with pantry operations. Responsibilities

• Safely deliver and pick up food items between the Food Pantry and various locations as scheduled
• Maintain and track food bank inventory to meet contract requirements
• Organize and manage inventory in pantry and kitchen areas
• Assist with loading and unloading donations and orders, including carrying items weighing 25-50 lbs
• Attend staff meetings, in-service trainings, and relevant seminars or workshops
• Support pantry operations and provide staffing assistance as needed
• Ensure client confidentiality in accordance with agency policy
• Report vehicle maintenance needs and ensure company vehicles have current documentation
• Comply with all safety precautions and traffic laws while driving
• Perform other departmental duties or special projects as directed by supervisor

Qualifications

• Experience working with diverse cultural and socio-economic populations in Orange County is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work accurately and meet deadlines despite frequent interruptions
• Demonstrated flexibility, initiative, good judgment, and discretion
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive company vehicles
• Ability to lift, carry, and move 25-50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day, including climbing stairs
• Comfortable working in varied environments and weather conditions
• Consistent punctuality and attendance required
