Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Medical Surgical

Location: Rochester, NY

Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule

• Shift: Day Shift – 3x12 Hours (07:00 – 19:00)
• Hours: 36 hours/week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday (as needed)
• Orientation: 16 hours (Non-billable)

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a Medical Surgical unit in a high-acuity teaching hospital. This role involves managing complex patient cases, including orthopedic overflow and long-term care patients, while working collaboratively under RN supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg unit
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and blood products
• Perform central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care
• Monitor oxygen therapy, tracheostomy care, and respiratory support
• Assist with wound care, surgical drains, and telemetry monitoring
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR
• Respond to rapid response/code situations
• Float to other units based on skillset

Unit Details

• Unit: Complex Care / Med-Surg (Ortho overflow)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5–6
• Patient Population: Adult
• Specialty Exposure: MS/Tele, Ortho Trauma, Total Joint Replacement

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State LPN License (Required)
• Minimum recent acute care experience (within last 2 years)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Certifications: BLS (Required)
• Ability to take independent patient assignments under RN supervision
• Strong clinical skills in IV therapy, telemetry, wound care, and respiratory support
