Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound Care

Location: Brooklyn, NY 11203

Duration: 13 Weeks

Schedule: 40 hours per week | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Pay Rate: $2,800 – $3,000 per week (Local Contract)

Position Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Registered Nurse (RN) – Wound Care for an exciting job in Brooklyn, NY.

Responsibilities

• Conduct focused health assessments and physical examinations related to wound, ostomy, and continence care.

• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on diagnosis, assessment, and patient needs.

• Administer appropriate wound care treatments, medications, and dressings.

• Monitor and document patient progress, evaluating treatment effectiveness and outcomes.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and timely patient care.

• Educate patients, families, and staff on wound prevention, management, and self-care techniques.

• Participate in developing and updating wound care protocols, standards, and best practices.

• Conduct training sessions for nursing staff, including orientation and continuing education programs.

• Perform comprehensive skin assessments and initiate pressure injury prevention strategies.

• Support quality improvement initiatives, including incidence and prevalence studies.

• Maintain confidentiality and ensure adherence to all safety and compliance standards.

• Manage and maintain specialized wound care equipment such as specialty beds and negative pressure devices.

Qualifications

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical Nursing.

• Prior experience in wound, ostomy, or colostomy care.

Education:

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN or ADN) from an accredited nursing program.

Licensure & Certifications:

• Active and valid New York State RN License .

• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

• At least one of the following wound care certifications:

  • Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse ( CWOCN ) – WOCNCB

  • Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse ( CWON ) – WOCNCB

  • Certified Wound Care Nurse ( CWCN ) – WOCNCB

  • Certified Wound Specialist ( CWS ) – ABWM

  • Wound Care Certified ( WCC ) – NAWCO
