About the Role As we expand our retail footprint, we're seeking a creative and strategic visual merchandising leader to ensure every Comfrt store delivers a consistent, inspiring, and commercially effective brand experience. This role will bridge brand vision and store execution, developing visual merchandising strategies that elevate the customer experience while driving business performance. The Manager, Retail Visual Merchandising will own the execution and consistency of Comfrt's visual merchandising strategy across retail locations. Leads field visual merchandising initiatives, develops store-level visual talent, and partners cross-functionally to ensure every store delivers a compelling brand experience that supports sales, customer engagement, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities:
Visual Merchandising Strategy & Brand Experience
- Execute the company's visual merchandising strategy across all retail locations, ensuring every store consistently reflects Comfrt's brand standards and customer experience.
- Develop and distribute visual merchandising directives, floor sets, and seasonal merchandising guides that clearly communicate product stories and presentation expectations.
- Establish merchandising standards that create engaging, customer-focused shopping experiences while supporting business objectives.
- Ensure visual presentation evolves alongside brand initiatives, seasonal campaigns, and new product launches.
- Lead and develop store-level Visual Merchandising Leads through coaching, training, and ongoing professional development.
- Conduct market visits to assess visual standards, identify opportunities, and provide in-the-moment coaching.
- Facilitate seasonal training sessions, workshops, and recurring field communications to ensure consistent execution across all locations.
- Partner with District and Store Managers to strengthen visual merchandising capabilities throughout the organization.
- Lead all visual merchandising aspects of new store openings, remodels, and major floor set transitions.
- Partner with Retail Operations and Store Development to ensure stores are visually prepared for opening and ongoing business needs.
- Develop creative solutions that address unique store layouts, inventory challenges, and architectural constraints while maintaining brand consistency.
- Partner closely with Brand, Creative, Merchandising, Planning, Marketing, and Retail Operations to align visual presentation with broader business initiatives.
- Provide ongoing feedback regarding product presentation, customer shopping behaviors, inventory opportunities, and market trends.
- Support company-wide initiatives that strengthen visual storytelling and improve the overall customer experience.
- Leverage visual merchandising to improve customer engagement, conversion, and overall store productivity.
- Monitor visual execution and store performance through store visits, ongoing data and analytics driven reporting, and key performance metrics - making recommendations in partnership with retail partners to increase product productivity and profitability.
- Manage visual merchandising budgets and resources responsibly while maximizing business impact.
- Identify opportunities to improve visual processes, merchandising tools, and execution standards as the retail organization scales.
- 5+ years of progressive retail visual merchandising experience, including leadership across multiple retail locations or high-volume stores.
- Proven experience developing and executing visual merchandising strategies that drive customer engagement and sales performance.
- Strong understanding of retail performance metrics and visual merchandising analytics.
- Demonstrated success coaching and developing high-performing visual merchandising teams.
- Strong understanding of retail operations, customer behavior, and visual storytelling.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to influence cross-functional partners and build strong collaborative relationships.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial retail environment with frequent travel.
- This is a hybrid position. Candidate must be based in NY/NJ
- Experience supporting new store openings and retail expansion.
- Experience developing merchandising playbooks, training materials, and presentation standards.
