- Day Shift: 5x8-Hour (11:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary
The Dietetic Technician supports dietary services operations within a clinical setting, focusing on nutrition preparation, patient dietary needs, and food safety compliance. This role works closely with healthcare teams to ensure accurate preparation and delivery of nutrition services.
Key Responsibilities
Nutrition Support & Food Preparation
- Assist in the preparation and handling of patient-specific dietary needs
- Support mixing room operations and ensure accuracy in nutritional formulations
- Follow prescribed dietary plans and nutrition guidelines
Patient & Team Communication
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff regarding dietary requirements
- Support coordination between dietary services and clinical teams
Documentation & Systems
- Utilize electronic systems for dietary tracking and management
- Maintain accurate records of dietary preparation and patient requirements
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to food safety standards and sanitation protocols
- Ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate’s degree in Nutrition or related field
- Minimum 2 years of hospital-based nutrition-related experience OR enrollment in an approved nutrition education program
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office or similar systems)
- Good mathematical and measurement skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a nutrition or related educational program
- Food Safety Certification (required within 6 months of hire)
