Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details – Utica, NY

• Location: Utica, NY 13502 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) – Cardiac Stepdown
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens, Travel Registered Nurse
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 20, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour days (6:30a–7p)
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2180–$2240
• Floating: Required within hospital units
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent IMCU/PCU experience, including travel RN assignments
• Active New York RN license (verified via NURSYS) and all required RN licenses
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR systems
• 2 recent IMCU Charge/Manager RN references
• Completed skills checklist for cardiac stepdown specialty
• Valid driver’s license with address matching application demographics
• Ability to float to other units as needed

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients (18+) in a 64-bed IMCU, including 15 neuro beds
• Manage patients with cardiac, neuro, trauma, COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, CV stepdown, and post-op diagnoses
• Operate specialty equipment: temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, Bipap, Neptune Vapo, and chronic vents (with RT support)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient care using EPIC EMR
• Adapt to floating assignments across various hospital units as required
