Chair of Plastic Surgery, Lenox Hill Hospital - Northwell Health

Northwell Health in conjunction with Lenox Hill Hospital and the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell is seeking a full-time academic Chair of Plastic Surgery. The candidate should have 10+ years of experience. Previous leadership experience is preferred.

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead and grow a well-established and highly respected Plastic Surgery department. The qualified candidate will oversee a supportive environment with experienced plastic surgery colleagues, physician assistants, fellows and residents in our training program.

Position Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Provide leadership and oversight for all employed and independent physicians within the Department of Plastic Surgery

• Maintain an active clinical practice while supporting departmental growth and development

• Develop engagement, alignment, and collaboration among department members and with other clinical departments across the health system

• Lead initiatives focused on quality, patient safety, operational excellence, and program development

• Advance departmental growth through strategic planning, recruitment, and service line expansion

• Support educational initiatives involving Plastic Surgery residents and fellows within the Northwell Health system

• Partner with hospital and system leadership on administrative, financial, and operational priorities

• Promote a culture of professionalism, teamwork, diversity, and physician engagement

Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution

• Board Certification in Plastic Surgery

• Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of New York

• Demonstrated leadership experience within an academic or clinically integrated health system environment

• A proven track record of clinical excellence, physician engagement, and program growth

• Experience with graduate medical education, resident and fellow teaching, and mentorship preferred
