Role: Rehabilitation Counselor

Term: Full-time/permanent Location: Onsite in Gowanda, NY Travel: Candidates must have clean, valid license for company and/or personal vehicle use. Work Schedule: 4x10s - Monday 8-6pm, Tuesday 8-6pm, Wednesday 12pm to 10pm, Saturday 12pm to 10pm. Off Thursday/Friday/Sunday Compensation: starting at $19.57 Per Hour Benefits: We offer paid-time off, paid holidays, affordable medical/dental/vision, 403b retirement plan, Company paid life insurance and a profit sharing plan.

*Candidates must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check through the NYS Office of Mental Health.

JOB FUNCTION:

This individual will provide case management, rehabilitative, and restorative services to residents within our Community Residence Program. Counselors are responsible for teaching, coaching, and monitoring residents daily living activities in a community residence or apartment setting, in order to develop skills, abilities, and experience that will facilitate greater opportunity for the resident to live independently. .

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Experience, and Knowledge Bachelors degree in human services-related field; or an associate degree in human service-related field and three years experience in human services; or a high school diploma and five years experience in human services. Must possess a working knowledge of current issues and concerns of people with mental illness, rehabilitative training methods, and community resources.

OTHER DUTIES/QUALIFICATIONS:

Maintain cleanliness of the residence Medication management Compassion, sensitivity and understanding for individuals suffering from mental illness and substance abuse. Professional demeanor Ability to work independently and self-motivated. Be able to travel to and among various facilities that are multileveled with stairs only. Have a valid drivers license and a clean driving record. May be required to use personal vehicle for programmatic purposes. (Mileage reimbursed for site-to-site travel).
