Position Summary

The University at Buffalo is seeking a Lecturer-in-Law to support the mission of the University at Buffalo School of Laws New York Law and Policy Institute through teaching, applied legal and policy research, and student mentorship. Working closely with the Institute Director, the lecturer contributes to strategic program development, collaborates with community partners on state and local policy initiatives, and produces high-quality legal and policy research.

Duties include:

• Supervising law students engaged in policy research and advocacy
• Teaching Institute-related courses with clinical or fieldwork components
• Participating in fundraising efforts that support the Institutes academic mission

Minimum Qualifications

JD from an accredited law school.
Excellent research and writing skills.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Admission to the New York bar.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with law and policy design, legal research, advocacy and implementation at a state level.

Physical Demands

Salary Range
$95,000 - $110,000
