About KAFSC
Founded in 1989, the Korean American Family Service Center (KAFSC) is a leading nonprofit organization serving the Korean American and immigrant communities of New York City. KAFSC’s mission is to support and empower adults, youth, and children to lead safe and healthy lives based on dignity, compassion, and mutual respect.
Through culturally and linguistically competent services, KAFSC provides a comprehensive continuum of programs, including counseling, legal and immigration service, economic empowerment, youth and community outreach, and a 24-hour bilingual hotline for survivors of gender-based violence.
Position Overview
The Director of Intervention Services (The Director) provides strategic leadership and clinical oversight of KAFSC’s core direct service programs, including crisis intervention, case management, counseling, and housing for survivors and families. The Director ensures that all programs are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and aligned with KAFSC’s mission to promote safety, healing, and empowerment for immigrant individuals and families affected by violence and trauma.
This position plays a key role in strengthening and expanding KAFSC’s continuum of care by developing culturally affirming and client-centered support groups, creating training materials responsive to community needs, and supporting the growth of a mission-driven, culturally competent mental-health program. The Director will work closely with the Economic Empowerment, Legal Services, and Community Outreach teams to ensure holistic and coordinated services.
The ideal candidate is a skilled clinician and program manager who is looking to transition into an organizational leadership role and grow their expertise in nonprofit management, staff development, and systems-level service delivery. Fluency in both English and Korean is strongly preferred. KAFSC actively encourages candidates from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds to apply and contribute to our inclusive, collaborative environment.
