Dish Food & Events, an award-winning catering and events company located in the heart of NYC, is searching for Catering Event Staff. As an integral part of our event execution team, the Event Staff member delivers exceptional front-line service, embodying the elegance and precision of our brand. This role is centered on hands-on service, collaborating closely with the catering team to provide outstanding hospitality to every guest. A key contributor to flawless event execution, this individual adheres to established protocols, upholding high service standards and ensuring a seamless flow of events. From setup to breakdown, the Catering Staff member guarantees smooth service delivery and exceeds client expectations through attentive, professional service. Ideal candidates possess strong hospitality instincts, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for guest service. The ideal candidate should be able to bring both beverage preparation expertise and professional table service skills to enhance the overall guest experience. Above all, they are committed to excellence and teamwork, ensuring every event reflects the prestige and professionalism our clients expect. Flexibility is essential, as this role requires availability for nights, weekends, and holidays. NYC catering experience is a plus but candidates who have a passion for food, events and hospitality are encouraged to apply. Dish provides both on the job training as well as hands on training sessions throughout the year.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set a professional example by arriving punctually, maintaining professional appearance, and actively engaging in service throughout the shift.
  • Attend pre-event briefings to review the event timeline, floor plan, client expectations, and service standards.
  • Execute setup, service, and breakdown duties according to your scheduled shift assignment
  • Execute event details according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
  • Support event flow by adapting to real-time adjustments and unscheduled changes.
  • Strictly follow safety protocols outlined in the safety plan and report potential hazards to supervisors.
  • Maintain compliance with health codes, proper food handling techniques, and safety protocols including personal hygiene.
  • Monitor food and beverage quality and presentation, reporting issues promptly to supervisors.
  • Serve as a service ambassador of Dish Food & Events, ensuring every guest feels welcomed, attended to and valued.
  • Anticipate guest needs and execute flawless service with a professional attention to detail.
  • Address minor guest concerns appropriately and escalate significant issues to supervisors.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented atmosphere that contributes to collaborative problem-solving.
  • Contribute to a culture of excellence by maintaining the high personal service standards our clients and guests expect.
  • Stay receptive to feedback and seek learning opportunities for professional growth.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in upscale catering, banquet, or hospitality service.
  • Background in both Serving and Bartending, as shifts can be interchangeable.
  • Experience working with Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and following detailed service specifications.
  • Knowledge of fine dining service standards, including plated, buffet, and cocktail reception formats.
  • Basic knowledge of wine and beverage service.
  • Ability to multitask, follow directions, and adapt quickly in dynamic event environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable interacting with guests and team members.
  • Detail-oriented with commitment to delivering polished, high-level guest experiences; able to serve executive-level clients and high-profile guests.
  • Flexible hours and availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedule.
  • Team-oriented mindset with willingness to support colleagues and follow leadership direction.
