HR Generalist - Temporary
An established hospitality and wellness organization is seeking an experienced Temporary Human Resources Generalist to provide leadership and operational support for the Human Resources department during a temporary assignment. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day HR functions, supporting employee relations, ensuring compliance with employment laws, administering HR policies and procedures, and partnering with leadership to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
This is a temporary position with a duration based on business needs. The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional who can quickly integrate into a fast-paced hospitality environment and provide immediate support to managers and employees.

- Pay Rate: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour, depending on experience (DOE)
- Assignment Type: Temporary (2 months)
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the Human Resources department during the temporary assignment.
- Partner with department leaders to provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and workplace issues.
- Advise managers and employees on organizational policies, procedures, and employment practices.
- Conduct workplace investigations and resolve employee relations matters in a timely and confidential manner.
- Support employee performance management, coaching, disciplinary actions, and terminations in accordance with company policies.
- Administer employee leave programs, benefits, HR documentation, and personnel records.
- Submit Paid Family Leave (PFL) and disability claims through designated carriers.
- Coordinate and distribute 401(k) enrollment information to eligible employees.
- Lead onboarding and orientation processes for new hires, including HRIS data entry and ensuring I-9 compliance.
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring activities as needed.
- Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR files.
- Process and submit weekly payroll through the organization's HRIS/payroll system.
- Recommend improvements to HR processes and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information.
- Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience, preferably within hospitality, restaurants, hotels, luxury services, or related industries.
- Previous experience as an HR Manager or Senior HR Generalist.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
- Experience managing employee relations, compliance, workplace investigations, leave administration, and performance management.
- Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus.
- ADP payroll experience
