Location: Highland, New York
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a 26-week correctional nursing assignment in New York. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care within a residential juvenile justice setting while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support patient health and safety.
Shift Details:
- Night Shift – 5x8s
- Schedule: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
- 40 hours per week
- Specific workdays discussed during interview
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications and maintain medication inventory, including controlled substances
- Assess and monitor overall health conditions of patients
- Develop, review, and evaluate nursing intervention plans
- Ensure nursing interventions align with treatment plans
- Maintain infection control standards and protocols
- Prepare clinical and administrative documentation and reports
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
- Collaborate with the medical treatment team to support patient care
Requirements:
- Active New York State RN license required
- Correctional or behavioral health experience preferred
- Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a structured team environment
