Assistant Resident Engineer / Inspector
Location: NYC (Coney Island / Sheepshead Bay)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer / Inspector to support construction activities for water and wastewater treatment facilities and related infrastructure projects throughout New York City.
This role is critical in ensuring construction quality, compliance, and progress by providing detailed field observation, documentation, and coordination with the Construction Management (CM) team and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Review project drawings, specifications, and construction work plans

Perform on-site inspection, observation, and monitoring of construction activities

Evaluate contractor performance and ensure adherence to project requirements

Prepare detailed daily reports, including verification of material quantities and time-and-material records

Maintain and update project redlines and as-built documentation

Coordinate closely with CM teams, contractors, and other project stakeholders

Support documentation of change orders, RFIs, and shop drawing reviews
Project Assignment
Field-based inspection role supporting a Job Order Contract (JOC) project in the Coney Island / Sheepshead Bay area.

Knowledge of DEP standards and requirements
Qualifications

Minimum of 6+ years of construction inspection or construction observation experience

Experience with municipal water/wastewater projects or similar infrastructure preferred
-
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
-
Ability to travel throughout the NYC metro area

Strong coordination and communication skills
Preferred Credentials
-
Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) - preferred, not required

Certified Construction Manager (CCM) - preferred
-
Experience working with agencies such as NYC DEP or DDC

in pumping stations, structural, or electrical systems is a plus

This is a Permanent position based out of Queens, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $103000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
Full benefits package; medical, vision, dental, 401k, profit- sharing.
