Four year (B.S. or B.A.) Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or Chem. Engr or related science

Minimum Years of Experience: 0-2

% Travel Time: 10

Required Language Proficiency: English

• Statistical analysis skills a plus

• Good working knowledge of analytical techniques required.

• Solid awareness and practice of safe lab procedures.

• Must be able to communicate clearly both orally and in written formats.

• Knowledge of cosmetic ingredients a plus.

• Must be able to lift 35 lbs.

• Knowledge of metric weights and measures including balance, pH meter, and viscometer

Description

May be responsible for the development of new products, or modifications of existing ones. Will be responsible for the accurate characterization and testing of cosmetic formulae. Is assigned several projects of different degrees of complexity. Ensures the timely completion of product development activities. Supervised by Senior members of the laboratory.

• Learns the usage of raw materials and the basic fundamentals of the technical development of new products.

• Learns the process of new product development from laboratory prototype submissions through First Production support.

• The candidate will be expected to work independently with a minimum amount of supervision and should have the decision making skills that enables them to complete their testing with a minimum of supervision.

• Assures that all testing to guarantee a marketable final product is on schedule.

• May determine stability of the formulations and ensure commercial feasibility.

• Keeps laboratory management informed of project progress. May make project direction recommendations.

• Stays abreast of developments in the cosmetic field and continues to demonstrate performance improvement.

• Interfaces with all R&D departments, QA, Technical Services, Manufacturing and Product Development Department.

• Work Safely in a laboratory environment

• Request or perform any in-process testing, lab maintenance, lab inventory tracking that is required and assist other departments as needed.
