Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year A bit about us: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Accountant to join our well-established client's organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to our company's financial health, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3-5+ years' experience in the accounting field, preferably with some public accounting knowledge/experience. They will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. - Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Liaise with our Financial manager and Accounting manager to improve financial procedures
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
- Assist with tax audits and tax returns
- Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
- Awareness of business trends
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages
- Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP's and pivot tables
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
- MBA Preferred; BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field required
- Relevant certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) will be preferred
- 3+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
- Advanced degree in Accounting
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with creating financial statements
- Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
- Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
