Position Summary
Neighborhood Initiatives Development Corp. (NIDC) is seeking a dynamic Program Director to lead a fee-based elementary after-school program. The Program Director oversees all aspects of program operations, including staff supervision, compliance, enrollment, family engagement, budgeting, and partnership with the host school. This position reports to the Program Supervisor and works closely with NIDC Youth Services staff to provide high-quality programming focused on academic enrichment, social-emotional learning, STEM, arts, recreation, leadership, and family engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the daily operation of the after-school program, ensuring a safe, engaging, and high-quality experience for children and families.
- Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate staff while fostering a positive team culture.
- Ensure compliance with all OCFS, DOH, SACC, and NIDC policies and regulations.
- Serve as the primary liaison with school administrators, families, and community partners.
- Manage enrollment, attendance, staffing, scheduling, lesson plans, supplies, field trips, and special events.
- Monitor tuition payments, billing, participant accounts, and childcare voucher compliance.
- Assist families with voucher applications and maintain required documentation for reimbursement.
- Maintain accurate program, financial, attendance, payroll, and participant records.
- Promote participant success through family engagement and positive youth development practices.
- Review curriculum and classroom quality through regular observations and staff coaching.
- Participate in school meetings, agency trainings, family events, and organizational initiatives.
- Report incidents promptly and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Education, Social Work, Public Administration, Youth Development, or a related field preferred.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 18 credits in Early Childhood Education that may be applied toward SACC licensing requirements, or currently hold a SACC credential.
- Four years of experience working with elementary-aged children in education, youth development, or licensed school-age childcare.
- Two years of supervisory or program management experience preferred.
- Experience with enrollment, billing, tuition collection, or childcare vouchers strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of OCFS, DOH, and SACC regulations.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and database systems.
- Available Monday-Friday, generally between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with flexibility for evenings, trainings, and occasional weekends.
- Ability to complete required annual professional development.
- Sense of humor.
Required Certifications
- CPR/First Aid
- Right-to-Know Certification
- Certificate of Fitness (W-07 Fire & Emergency Drill Conductor)
- A current physical examination, TB test, and fingerprint clearance are required prior to employment.
All required certifications must be obtained within ninety (90) days of employment.
