JOB TITLE: Loader Operator
REPORTS TO: Facility Manager and Facility Supervisor
JOB TYPE: Full-time, non-exempt
LOCATION: Skyway Auto Parts, 637 Tifft Street Buffalo NY, 14220
HOURS: 40 Hour Work Week
COMPENSATION: $18-22/hr., based on skills and experience

• Clean and prepare jobsite and yard in a tidy and safe manner.
• Use loaders to rotate vehicle inventory throughout the yard.
• Parking newest vehicles and removing oldest vehicles to be crushed and shipped.
• Safe handling and/or moving of vehicles.
• Maintain daily logs of equipment usage, maintenance, etc.
• Daily maintenance of equipment.
• Remove fluids such as gas or oil from vehicles.
• Remove tires from vehicles.
• Use a variety of tools and machines; blowtorches, forklifts, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and water spraying equipment.
• Effective communication with all site personnel.
• Identify, report, correct, and/or prevent hazards.
• Perform tasks maintaining all health, safety, and environmental rules and ensure work is completed in a safe and responsible manner.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Handle and manipulate objects on a repetitive basis.
• Work outside in the elements regardless of the season.
• Ability to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices, and typical sounds.
• Other tasks as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Being able to operate bobcats, forklifts, and loaders.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., bend, twist, and kneel.
• Quick learner who can follow directions.
• Good communication skills.
• Team player.
• Organized, consistent, and good at multitasking.

• Frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
• Specific vision includes close vision and ability to adjust focus.
• Standing for extended periods of time.
• Move about a salvage yard.
• Ability to use both hands regularly with enough dexterity to safely operate basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift, move, and carry objects and materials up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
• Physically able to participate in sessions, presentations, and meetings.
• Outside work in the Yard is where temperature and weather extremes (heat, cold, rain) may be encountered.
• Work may take place in an industrial environment, with noise, dust and fumes.
• Noise level in the work environment can be moderate at times, hearing protection is provided by the company at all times.
