Software Engineer (Domains)

Domains teams that we are hiring for:

• Domains Growth : The Growth team is responsible for the top-of-the-funnel growth of all the products within the Domains group. This team owns the search experience on our frontsite, the pricing strategy and the conversion across all products.


• Domains Email: This team is the engine behind one of our high-growth product categories, serving as a critical pillar in our mission to help entrepreneurs succeed. We are selling more than just a service; we are building the indispensable communication hub that allows millions of users to manage their professional identity.

You'll Get To…

• Write server-side code, create high-volume production applications, and develop prototypes quickly.


• Lead the development of new features and build backend services with Java.


• Collaborate with other engineers and designers to provide intuitive customer-focused experiences.


• Ensure the reliability of systems essential to Squarespace users and businesses powered by Squarespace.


• Practice disciplined software engineering (e.g. automated testing, code reviews, and writing beautiful, readable code).

Who We're Looking For

• 3+ years of development experience in Java, Python, Go or another Object-oriented language. Experience developing large-scale software.


• A solid foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design practices.


• A sincere commitment to creating readable code and an understanding of database schema design, caching and scalability.


• A degree in Computer Science or related or equivalent industry experience.

Cash Compensation Range: $110,500 - $178,250 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive structure in addition to base salary.
