CFS is offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Associate to join its outsourced accounting practice based in Midtown, New York. This hybrid role includes 1–2 days onsite and provides a strong platform for career development within a collaborative and growth-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Handle full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes across multiple client accounts
- Process employee expense reports and maintain accurate general ledger entries
- Record and reconcile bank transactions, ensuring all documentation is properly organized
- Prepare and file 1099 forms and assist in delivering client financial reports
- Support month-end close activities and prepare basic financial statements
- Maintain balance sheet schedules and supporting documentation
- For more experienced candidates:
- Manage advanced journal entries, accruals, and prepaid expenses
- Oversee fixed asset tracking and payroll reconciliations
- Assist in reviewing financial statements for accuracy and completeness
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 1–2 years of accounting experience for associate-level candidates (3+ years for senior-level roles)
- Practical experience in public accounting or client-service-based accounting environments
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems
- Solid understanding of reconciliations and accounting workflows
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients
- Experience working within U.S.-based accounting systems and standards (international backgrounds considered with relevant U.S. experience)
