POSITION DETAILS

The Office of Recruitment and Diversity (ORD) within University Human Resources at The City University of New York (CUNY) supports CUNY's commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion through innovative programs for recruiting, retaining and advancing CUNY faculty and staff.

The University HR Diversity Programs Specialist supports diversity and inclusion research, analysis, and program support. The specialist will gain exposure to recruitment, training, data analysis, laws and regulations, and group facilitation.

Other duties include, but will not be limited to:

  • Assisting with anti-discrimination and Affirmative Action compliance activities
  • Organizing one or more university-wide recruitment and retention programs
  • Researching and reporting on best practices in recruitment and diversity
  • Conducting and analyzing surveys
  • Assisting with development of training materials and presentations
  • Maintaining CUNY's exit survey application
  • Managing media and resources for campus Chief Diversity Officers
  • Supporting ongoing diversity programs, including conferences and committees.

Our offices are located in SoHo, Manhattan (New York City) with occasional local travel throughout the five boroughs and a hybrid work arrangement of on-site and remote working days.

NOTES:

Until further notice, this is a hybrid position, eligible to work remotely and work on-site in the office. This position is excluded from union representation in the collective bargaining unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum:

Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.

Preferred:

The ideal candidate should demonstrate or possess:

  • Work experience in a diversity-related function with an understanding of the role of Chief Diversity Officers.
  • Understanding of basic principles and practices of human resources management.
  • Experience utilizing HRIS systems and survey analysis software; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite plus virtual meeting/conferencing and collaboration tools.
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills to devise and execute work plans, prioritize work, manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines with limited supervision.

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

  • Administer and enhance use of recruitment sources and technologies
  • Manage surveys, including the Exit Survey program
  • Analyze data and prepare reports on the demographics of CUNY's workforce
  • Assist campus Chief Diversity Officers in problem-solving of compliance and recruitment issues
  • Research and analyze policy and best practices
  • Create and maintain ORD's documentation and data files
  • Support ORD's initiatives, conferences and faculty programs

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The salary range is $75,465 - $86,645 , commensurate with education, credentials, and experience.
