SkillBridge Technical Services Specialist

Through this SkillBridge program, participants gain hands-on experience in IT support, client services, and technology management while developing skills that translate directly to civilian careers.
Key Training Areas
SkillBridge participants will receive structured training and mentorship in:
- Administering and troubleshooting Windows 10/11 operating systems in SMB environments
- Administering and troubleshooting Windows Server operating systems
- Configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting business networks, including wireless, firewalls, and switches
- Configuring and administering Microsoft 365 for Business (Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint, Entra ID)
- Supporting cybersecurity solutions, including AV/EDR/DNS and content filtering
- Troubleshooting printers and supporting mobile devices (phones/tablets)
- Using Intune for device management (training provided if needed)
- Supporting business VoIP systems (experience preferred but training can be provided)
- Providing professional client support both remotely and onsite
- Performing hands-on equipment setup, including lifting and moving desktops, laptops, and monitors
Participants will train alongside experienced IT staff in a hybrid work environment, including office, remote, and client-site settings. Training emphasizes:
- Structured weekly learning themes with progressive hands-on application
- Mentorship and feedback from senior staff
- Exposure to multiple client environments and SMB industry setups
- Gradual transition to independent technical support responsibilities
Preferred Background and Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly
- Interest in IT support, SMB environments, and client-facing technology solutions
- Patience, problem-solving mindset, and customer-focused approach
- Ability to manage multiple client environments and adapt to different business needs
- Willingness to learn client workflows to provide tailored technology solutions
- Comfortable lifting and setting up IT equipment and performing physical setup tasks as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, or related field preferred but not required
- CompTIA A+ / Network+ preferred
- Prior training or certifications in Windows administration, networking, Microsoft 365, or IT support helpful but not mandatory
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn new software systems

- Technical Services Specialist
- IT Support Technician
- Systems Administrator (entry-level SMB focus)
