Cashier
The Cashier is responsible for providing excellent guest service by welcoming guests, accurately taking orders, processing payments, and maintaining a clean and organized front of house environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism, and a positive, guest-focused attitude while upholding Department of Health standards and company policies. This is a tipped position.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Welcome and acknowledge all guests upon entering the space
- Provide warm, attentive hospitality to guests and fellow team members
- Take guest orders with 100 percent accuracy when entering them into the POS
- Process guest payments accurately and in a timely manner
- Answer guest questions clearly and professionally, in person and over the phone
- Assist guests with menu navigation, product availability, and general information
- Bus tables and assist with guest area upkeep as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of the front counter, service areas, and guest spaces throughout the shift
- Follow all Department of Health protocols as directed by management
- Complete opening and closing side work checklists for each shift
- Set up and restock front of house stations as needed
- Accurately report cash and credit card tips and participate in the tip pool as applicable
- Participate in required training and ongoing development
- Complete additional duties as assigned by management
- Able to speak, understand, read and write in English
- Able to comprehend and follow written and verbal direction
- Able to understand basic math
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Able to lift at least 30 pounds on a regular basis
- Able to bend, stoop, stand and perform extensive walking for 8-10 hours a day
- Adaptable in fast paced and challenging work environment
- Organized approach to projects
- Able to take and give direction
- Able to approach their work with a sense of ownership and work with a sense of urgency
- Able to work nights, weekends and holidays and variable schedule, per the needs of the business
- Able to perform essential job functions under pressure, maintain professionalism when working under stress
- Maintain polished personal presentation; grooming meets Company standards as outlined by Employee Handbook
- Strict adherence to posted schedule and clock in/out at times
- Communicate information effectively and efficiently
- Maintain general knowledge of the restaurant, location, transportation, management team, etc.
- Maintain sanitation to Department of Health standards; Keeps work area clean and organized
- Inform Manager on Duty immediately of any DOH or OSHA/workplace safety violations
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a passion for connecting with others
- Prior cashier experience or similar entry-level role in a quick service restaurant preferred
- Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules
- Multi-tasking abilities
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment
