The Professional, Data Engineer role is to use expert data analysis, documentation and process orchestration skills and knowledge to define and deliver data products and to contribute to the development and implementation of the enterprise data strategy ensuring it is in line with and supports the IT and Business strategies. With the growing need to integrate and share data and information as corporate assets, serving as integral platforms for generating revenue and competitive advantages, this individual must be able to understand both the technical points of data management, as well as the business drivers and needs regarding data and solutions to promotes its effective use.
Analyze, tag, identify data assets and systems through data discovery and analysis of high-level business processes, engagement with stakeholders and power users, and create the methods and concepts needed to produce business insights. The Data Requirements Analyst will have deep data management skills and will be comfortable querying a variety of platforms using new languages and methods. Experience sorting through uncertain raw data to extract useful elements and collections. Experience working with data architects, data engineers, data modelers and reporting users. Work as part of the data management team on large programs, governing and shaping the delivery of data products and services. Help define and propagate data assets both existing and to be built. Collaborate with development teams working with other areas to ensure that all data solutions are complete, operable, conform to business processes, and meet the business needs with the agreed quality of service. Experience with Big Data Platforms, Data Warehousing, Data Lakes and Data Mesh/Hub concepts. Understand the need for and proper application of data governance. Understanding of identifying, modifying, and creating efficient best in class data workflows. Ensure the end-to-end solution is fit for purpose, meets the needs of business, the agreed requirements, and are both pragmatic and supportive of the strategic architecture direction.
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understanding of data management practices such as data integration, data governance, master data management, metadata management, data quality management, security/privacy, and data modeling. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to regulatory compliance issues as they exist and change from time to time. Performs other related duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Degree:
University degree in the field of computer science, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum Experience:
3 years’ experience working in the Data Management and information Management spaces. Experience with formal data and process documentation tools. Experience in data warehousing, data modeling, and data analysis. Good knowledge of data management, data integration and database development techniques. Experience with database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, Hadoop, Spark). Experience with ETL and other business intelligence tools. Experience collaborating on reference architecture, principles, and standards. Extensive experience with delivery of data solutions and SDLC processes. Experience or knowledge of the data requirements for health insurance industry. Proven experience in Data Management planning, organization, and development.
Skills:
Ability to relate architectural decisions and recommendations to business needs.
Entity Relationship modeling, metadata systems, data quality tools and techniques.
Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong customer service orientation.
Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
Location: Position is onsite 3 days per week, then 4 days per week starting in September.

MVP Health Care is committed to providing competitive employee compensation and benefits packages. The base pay range provided for this role reflects our good faith compensation estimate at the time of posting. MVP adheres to pay transparency nondiscrimination principles. Specific employment offers and associated compensation will be extended individually based on several factors, including but not limited to geographic location; relevant experience, education, and training; and the nature of and demand for the role.
