Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000 with (NYS) LMHC, LMFT, LCAT or LMSW
Work Hours: 12pm-8pm T-Th; Sat. 9-5pm; Mon. Virtual

ABOUT THE COALITION FOR HISPANIC FAMILY SERVICES (CHFS)
CHFS is a community-based, family-focused organization of color providing an array of services to children and families in North Brooklyn and Western Queens. For over 30 years, CHFS has worked with vulnerable populations that include children in foster care, and emotionally disturbed children and youth and their families who have or are at risk of abuse and neglect. The provision of accessible, high-quality health services to these vulnerable populations is central to our holistic approach of strengthening families in a culturally competent manner.
Job Summary
The Licensed Clinician provides direct evidence-based mental health assessment, treatment and rehabilitations services to children, adolescents and their families enrolled in the in the children’s outpatient mental health clinic. The clinician will deliver culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and strength-based care in accordance with New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) regulations, program policies, and best practice guidelines. This role requires working collaboratively with multiple systems, including schools, child welfare, medical providers and community-based organizations-on behalf of the children and families served to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, including risk and safety evaluations, diagnostic formulation, and treatment recommendations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the child, family, and multidisciplinary team, ensuring alignment with OMH MHOTRS service requirements.
- Provide individual, family and group psychotherapy using evidence-based interventions appropriate for the developmental stage and cultural background of the client.
- Deliver crisis intervention services as needed, including safety planning and coordination with emergency services.
- Actively engage parents, guardians, and caregivers as partners in the treatment process.
- Maintain ongoing communication and coordination with multiple systems (e.g., schools, child welfare, juvenile justice, primary care) to ensure consistent and supporting treatment approaches.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, school personnel, social service agencies, caseworkers, and other providers to ensure integrated wraparound care.
- Participate in case conferences, treatment team meetings, and clinical supervision with both internal and external partners.
- Facilitate appropriate referrals for community resources and ancillary supports to address educational, medical, housing, and other social determinants of health.
- Serve as a liaison between families and external systems to advocate for clients needs and promote collaborative problem-solving.
- Complete all documentation in compliance with OMH regulations, Medicaid billing requirement, and agency standards, including timely entry into the electronic health record (EHR).
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Monitor and update treatment plans regularly to reflect progress and changes in client needs.
- Participate in ongoing clinical supervision and professional development training.
- Contribute to program quality assurance activities, including outcome measurement and service improvement initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Incentives
1. Reflective team-oriented supervision and guidance that includes but is not limited to weekly individual supervision by a licensed individual, supervision that fulfills State requirements for licensure, weekly staff meetings, and weekly Clinical Case Conferences.
2. In-depth on-boarding process to create a strong foundation to prepare clinicians for a full caseload. This includes initial weekly supervision, direct support from clinical supervisor.
3. Strong investment in clinical professional development, which includes extensive training in clinical documentation, administration of culturally sensitive evidence-based clinical treatment models, and clinically appropriate diagnosing.
Qualifications
1. Master’s Degree of Social Work, Mental Health, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Creative Arts Therapy from an accredited school
2. Licensed by the State of New, i.e., LMHC, LMFT, LCAT, LMSW
3. Clinical experience 2-4 years post masters.
4. If not licensed, must be eligible for limited-permit license by the New York State Office of Professions, pending licensing.
5. Excellent writing and documentation skills.
6. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
7. Ability to work independently in a school setting while staying connected to the agency.
8. Ability to use various digital tools and technologies to complete job tasks efficiently and effectively.
9. Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred .
10. Understanding and appreciation of the roles of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual identity, and individual values as they relate to mental health and treatment of clients and families.
11. Ability to provide tele-mental health services in an environment that promotes confidentiality and privacy.
