Our client is a real estate investment firm. They seek a temp Property Accountant to join their Manhattan, NY office.

Responsibilities

• Perform and support audit preparation, ensuring all financial records and supporting documentation are accurate and complete
• Manage A/R and A/P processes, maintaining accurate and timely entries
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations and ensure all accounts are fully reconciled with no outstanding or unreconciled balances
• Consolidate property and entity accounts for reporting and analysis purposes
• Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts to verify accuracy and proper classification
• Prepare and analyze Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, identifying variances and ensuring correct allocations
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or irregularities in financial data promptly and effectively

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Real estate industry experience
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting
• High attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Strong AppFolio experience is required
