Base pay range

$180,000.00/yr - $220,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Staff or Principal Hardware Engineer. This role is Hybrid in White Plains, NY (3 days onsite, 2 days remote; Flexible arrangements available). What You'll Do: As a key member of our engineering team, you'll lead the evaluation, selection, and integration of cutting-edge Bluetooth-enabled medical devices into our connected care platform. You'll own the full lifecycle-from scouting and prototyping to testing and deployment-ensuring seamless interoperability across hardware, software, and cloud systems. Responsibilities will include:

• Technology Scouting & Evaluation: Research and select next-gen medical devices (Bluetooth, IoT, sensor-based) that meet clinical and product needs
• System Design & Integration: Architect integration pathways between devices, power systems, and software (embedded, mobile, cloud)
• Testing & Validation: Lead performance benchmarking, environmental stress testing, and interoperability validation
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all systems meet medical, safety, and cybersecurity standards; Create clear documentation for cross-functional teams
• Leadership & Collaboration: Mentor junior engineers and serve as a technical bridge between hardware, software, operations, and clinical teams
• Power Distribution & Cable Management: Redesign wiring infrastructure for safety, serviceability, and aesthetics; Engineer optimized layouts and redundancy systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• 15+ years of hands-on experience in hardware design and development
• Experience with regulatory standards (IEC 60601, ISO 13485, NEC)
• Proven success in integrating Bluetooth-enabled or IoT medical devices
• Strong understanding of hardware-software integration and communication protocols (BLE, Wi-Fi, USB, etc.)
• Exceptional problem-solving and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills
• Ability to lead, mentor, and influence technical strategy

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
