What is a Stores Forewoman/Forewoman?
Central Hudson’s Stores Foreman/Forewoman provides direct oversight to either the Eltings Corners Main Storeroom or all Nine District Storerooms located all over Central Hudson’s service territory. A Stores Foreman/Forewoman plans, schedules, coordinates, evaluates, and supervises the activities and functions of crews engaged in the operation and maintenance of storerooms.



What does a Stores Forewoman/Foreman do?

»Operates a safe work environment that meets or exceeds OSHA requirements and assures that all storeroom operations are in compliance with corporate policies and government regulations

»Promotes and maintains a safe workplace for employees, contractors, and the general public in order to drive injuries and accidents to zero

»Ensures safety, quality, timeliness, and productivity/value on a regular basis. Must provide this performance feedback to employees

»Plans, schedule and supervises assigned workforce to maintain the highest level of productivity, cost control, and customer satisfaction

»Must be able to strategically leverage resources to provide high quality customer service to our various internal customers all over the company, ensuring operational demand is met

»Ensure work orders are closed out accurately, in a timely manner

» supervises and coordinates Periodic Cycle and Annual Physical Inventory Counts to ensure adherence to policies, timely reporting, and reconciliation of system balances

»Manage Stores Vending Program with a focus on material upkeep and monitoring of usage appropriateness and machine performance, as assigned

»If responsible for District Storerooms, maintain a regular visitation schedule to each District to facilitate constructive feedback sessions and obtain status updates from Storekeepers.

»Organize and lead quarterly Store Safety Meetings aimed at upholding and enhancing safety standards within the establishment, as assigned

»Serve as Primary Backup to other Stores Foreman/Forewoman

»Works under general supervision and must take ownership of project/task completion and be committed to meeting scheduled due dates, identify emerging issues and contribute to the solution of problems

»Provide managerial control of assigned personnel through leadership abilities to fulfill organizational goals and objectives, control and monitor costs and ensure the appropriate use of corporate assets.

»Coordinate activities with other operating units of the Company, and with customers, contractors, and other non-Company personnel as required

»Plan, develop and recommend improvements and changes in plant, equipment, tools, methods, standards, rules and practices

»Train and instruct employees in the performance of their tasks, safety rules and regulations and in standard practices



What does it take to be a Stores Forewoman/Foreman?

Required:

»An Associate’s degree in a significant field and 1 year significant trade or supervision practice. In lieu of an Associate’s degree, a HS Diploma/GED and a minimum of 3 years of significant trade or supervision experince

»Must be willing to respond to all requests to work outside of normal work hours.

»Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

»Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication expertise along with strong organization and planning expertise

»A valid driver’s license
