We are currently seeking a School Nurse to join our team and provide excellent healthcare services to children with developmental disabilities at our school in Staatsburg, NY.



School RN Qualifications required

»Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of New York.

»Minimum of 2 years of nursing practice, preferably in a pediatric or school setting.

»Strong expertise of pediatric nursing principles, developmental disabilities, and common childhood illnesses.

»Excellent assessment, communication, and interpersonal expertise.

» capability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

»Proficient in maintaining accurate medical records and documentation.

»CPR and First Aid certifications.



School RN Responsibilities:

»Provide comprehensive nursing care to students with developmental disabilities in conformity with established protocols and guidelines.

»Assess and monitor students' health conditions, administer medications, and provide treatment as required.

»Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide appropriate first aid and interventions.

»Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized health plans for students.

»Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including immunization records and health assessments.

»Educate students, staff, and families on health-related topics and promote preventive measures and healthy lifestyles.

»Participate in health screenings, immunization programs, and other health-related activities as required.

»Collaborate with other nurses and healthcare providers in the school on a rotational on-call basis.



Schedule: This temporary position operates Monday through Friday with a slightly flexible schedule. The typical workday is between 7:30 am and 5:00 pm, with variations such as 8:00 am to 4:30 pm or 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Additionally, on-call tasks will be shared on a rotational basis with other nurses.


This is a temp-to-hire position with an hourly rate of $40.
